Walter Prenzler

Walter specializes in airline strategic and operational management. With an extensive and impressive career in aviation spanning more than 35 years, he is well equipped to develop and implement world class aviation solutions, tailored specifically to individual clients’ requirements.

Walter has previously held senior management positions in Germany, MEA and Asia in network and low cost carriers, charter operations, and as a principal Aviation Consultant.

As CEO of Saudi Arabia’s first low cost carrier NASAIR (now flynas), Walter led the airline during a period of significant expansion of the fleet and network, and was responsible for substantial improvement in operational performance, KPIs and financial results.

More recently, Walter was the Interim CEO & CCO of airBaltic, the national carrier of Latvia.

Walter’s experience extends to the Asia Region where he was the EVP Commercial/CCO of the Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia responsible for Operational management, debt restructuring, and a successful turnaround program.

As VP Network Planning, Walter held responsibility for route and network planning, including the set-up of the Star Alliance network for Lufthansa German Airlines and was an integral part of Alliance Management group and member of the Star Alliance Committee

Throughout his career, Walter has been at the forefront in global aviation, including

  • Area management of the MEA/Pakistan region for Lufthansa as Regional Director.
  • Acquisition, consultancy and management of high profile aviation projects in MEA and Asia for Lufthansa Consulting as Managing Consultant and VP Sales Asia.
  • SVP Commercial XLAirways Germany for aircraft charter, ad-hoc flights, ACMI and dry lease business.
  • Extensive experience in aviation crisis management, contract negotiations and conclusions.
  • Expert in airline IT solutions, IT based fuel management, eCommerce and digital business.

Walter holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration to compliment his executive leadership and excellent communications skills which extend across a wide range of diverse national and cultural groups.

Andreas Schimpff


Andreas specializes in all on-ground airline processes, specifically the optimization of customer services, revenue optimization, cost control and reductions, planning for irregularities, through to the expert review of contracts and airline manuals.

Andreas has held senior management positions with international air carriers, GSA’s, airport ground handling providers and major aviation consultancy organizations.

With over 30 years of wide-ranging and inspiring aviation experience, Andreas is exceptionally well versed in passenger services and customer satisfaction, on-time performance and airline safety and security.

As the Senior Director Aviation Services & Consulting for the German ground handling company DIWA Aviation Services, Andreas led the company from its foundation to a successful launch into the German aviation market leading the acquisition of a substantial customer base and market share. Andreas was the senior manager responsible for Personnel and Human Resources, Administration & Finance, Operations and Sales & Marketing.

Andreas’ successful aviation experiences encompass those of a Senior Aviation Consultant for airlines and airports in northern and southern East Asia, Middle East through to the Caribbean, focusing on organizational process improvement and optimization.

Within Germany, Andreas was the Airport Manager of the US flag carrier US Airways at Frankfurt/Germany with management portfolio responsibility for restructuring the operation in terms of service quality, efficiency and cost awareness, which resulted in substantial improvements in on-time performance, passenger satisfaction and number of baggage irregularities and passenger complaints. These operations were supported by the implementation of an Emergency Response Plan and the Irregularity Management and Response Plan.

Within the technology environment, Andreas headed major improvements as the Asst. Airport Manager Frankfurt for Korean Air, including a computerized name check-in system, passenger convenience enhancement programs, 100% bag match security system (as first carrier in Germany), through to the development and implementation of the airline’s aviation security plan in cooperation with German Aviation Ministries.
